Inner Light- Guided Meditation for Self-Resilience

Cultivating a sense of self-resilience can be imperative to mental wellness in the fast-paced world we live in today. Throughout our days we are hurdled through emotions from celebration, devastation, indifference, and all the rest; becoming self-resilient can act as a shield from many day to day troubles. While this meditation is a great start to cultivating power within yourself, my best advice is to cultivate your own self-resilience practice as time goes on. This meditation is simply to be used as a raft that will help you cross the rapid rivers that flow through a turbulent mind, once you reach more stable ground, release the raft, and forge your own path towards your inner power.
Here are the basic steps to this meditation:
Find a comfortable seated position or lie down in a quiet and peaceful space. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths to relax your body and calm your mind.
As you inhale, feel the air filling your lungs, and as you exhale, release any tension or stress.
Visualize a small, radiant golden orb nestled gently in the center of your chest, right at your heart center. This golden aura represents love, strength, and resilience.
With each inhale, imagine this golden light expanding, radiating outwards from your heart. Feel its warmth and brightness growing with every breath.
As you exhale, let go of any negativity or doubt, allowing the golden light to cleanse and purify your body and mind.
Feel this golden light gradually filling your entire chest area, then flowing down through your arms, spreading love and strength to your fingertips. Let it flow down through your torso, your hips, and down your legs, touching every cell with its healing energy.
Allow the light to flow all the way to the tips of your toes.
As you continue to breathe, visualize the golden light enveloping your entire body, creating a protective and nurturing cocoon of love and resilience.
With each breath, the light expands further, reaching beyond your physical body and extending into your aura, filling your entire energy field with its radiant glow.
Feel the warmth of this golden light embracing you. As you inhale, invite feelings of self-love, compassion, and unwavering strength.
With every exhale, release any self-doubt, fear, or negativity that may have held you back.
Stay with this visualization, breathing in the golden light of love and resilience. Allow it to infuse your being with its positive energy, reminding you of your inner power and the boundless love you hold within.
When you're ready, take a few deep breaths, gently wiggle your fingers and toes, and bring your awareness back to the present moment. Open your eyes and carry the sense of love and resilience with you throughout your day.
I hope this meditation helps as a start in your mindfulness journey towards cultivating self-love and resilience. I learned of this practice in a yoga class during my time at the University of Colorado, and I have taken it with me since. I find this is a great practice for when I want to build confidence from a more detached view of myself. I feel like I am able to channel my goals, frustrations, anxieties all into this big orb of light. I do not need to know how to verbalize it, I just know how it feels and I send it spinning into the light. These worries lose meaning and instead are melted by the light and turned into a orb of energetically charged love, determination, and confidence.
